concert film series
Bob Dylan, Radiohead, B.B. King, Neil Diamond, George Harrison, Ravi Shankar, Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy, Joni Mitchell, Muddy Waters, U2, the Rolling Stones and David Bowie were among the artists whose classic performances were featured at a free outdoor film series presented last summer at the Levitt Shell. Presented by Indie Memphis and the Levitt Shell, the Concert Film Series was made possible through a First Tennessee Foundation Award for Innovation in the Arts and was sponsored by Newcastle Brown Ale and the Memphis Flyer. Films began at dusk on Friday evenings from July 1 through August 12. Admission was free and open to the public. Details on the 2012 series are TBA.
global lens film series
The 2011 Global Lens Film Series series features nine award-winning narrative feature films from around the world, which were screened at The Brooks from June 16 – August 26, 2011. Free encore screenings are being held at the Benjamin L Hooks Central Library through the end of the year. A fixture of the annual Indie Memphis Film Festival since 2007, the series transitioned to a three-month summer program at the Brooks in 2010 thanks to the support of the First Tennessee Foundation. Indie Memphis members receive free admission to Global Lens screenings at the Brooks. Presented by Indie Memphis and the Brooks Museum of Art, the 2011 Global Lens Film Series is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, the Memphis Public Library & Information Center, the Memphis Flyer and the Global Film Initiative.

indie memphis student shorts competition
A competitive showcase of Memphis-area students work. The showcase gives students an opportunity to meet and network with their peers at other area institutions and provides them with a "training wheels" experience for the festival circuit, as well as offers them a bit of friendly competition and greater chances of public exposure. The inaugural event took place on May 7, 2011 at the Memphis College of Art's Callicott Auditorium.
memphis in may
For six years running, Indie Memphis has partnered with Memphis in May to bring World Cinema to Memphis as part of their international celebration. For 2011, four award-winning contemporary Belgian films will screen at three venues during the month of May. The film series featured: The Misfortunates (2009) and The Barons (2009) on 35mm at the Studio on the Square, and The Over the Hill Band (2009) and Rumba (2008) at the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. The 2012 series will feature films from the Philippines, TBA.
southern teen filmmaking showcase
The Indie Memphis SOUTHERN TEEN FILMMAKING SHOWCASE, which screens as part of the annual Indie Memphis Film Festival, is open to teen filmmakers (18 and under) who live in the Mid-South. There is no entry fee to submit, but films must be under 20 minutes in length. Details on the 2012 showcase will be coming soon.
freedom series
A 2010 program of community-hosted films and conversations into individually organized collaborations. Host communities, including Abudant Grace Fellowship, Latino Memphis and Muslims in Memphis, presented conversation-provoking films, followed by an open dialogue. The concept continues with stand-alone screenings co-presented with community partners at various times throughout the year.
micro cinema club
Free and open to the public, the Indie Memphis MICRO CINEMA CLUB was a monthly screening series which for five years brought short films from around the world to Memphis. With the August 2009 closing of Power House Memphis, the series was put on hold and is currently seeking a patron and venue. If you miss the Micro Cinema Club, please let us know!
